Attendance was pretty good this evening. Harry was a new model to our roster and will definitely be back. The group turned out some pretty good work tonight, and we got a chance to eat some cookies.

Attendance was sparse this session. Work schedules and rain apparently conspired.

Besides the model, ONE person showed up, and not a person who shared their pictures with me for the blog.

Some folks came out despite the impending storm and settled in to draw Mitch, eat some Peach cheesecake pie and turkey-mushroom arianciata and other little snacks.

October and November 2014 Scheduled Sessions

October 7 - Model: Mitch

October 21 - Model: Michael B

November 18 - Model: James

Sessions start at 7:30. Please arrive by 7:15 for set-up and social time and to avoid disrupting the session, however, if you must arrive late, please wait in the changing area until the timed session is completed to minimize disruption.

Fee is $12. Easels, drawing boards and light snacks are provided.

Artists are expected to bring their own supplies. Please refrain from bringing materials which require solvents or aerosols as we do not have the facilities to handle them.

For those new to the group, both the model and the artists are nude. Occasionally the poses are erotic. Men sometimes get aroused. This is accepted and the energy is focused  back into the work.  

The gallery is Metro accessible and as we head into the Nationals Post Season, parking may become more of a challenge, so please factor that into your transportation choices.

There is a mailing list. Last minute changes to schedule are issued via the list. If you have not been receiving emails from us, please attend a session. I'll collect your contact info and add you to the list.

You must attend at least one session in order to be added to the mailing list, as the focus of communications is to attendees only.  All other pertinent info and recaps will be provided via the blog.

A small but lively crowd joined us to draw this evening. Nationals game and a big event over at the Barracks locked up parking. A persnickety doorbell didn't help matters either.

Jeremy held some very nice poses for the first and only time he'll sit for us before he prepares to leave for California.

Upcoming Events

On Saturday,  September 20, a memorial gathering will be held to honor and celebrate the life of Jack Cox, one of the founders of the Vitruvian Gallery.  Details regarding the event are here.

During the gathering, and concurrent with the wishes of Jack and his surviving partner, one of our members will have a sneak preview of his upcoming gallery show.  Please stop by during the event to support the gallery which hosts us, the passing of someone who was very important in many communities important to us in DC, and last but not least, one of our members having the opportunity to show his work.


On Tuesday, September 23, Jeremy will be modeling for our second session. If you've been to the Thursday Night Drawing Session at Vitruvian, you've likely drawn him before. He expressed interest in modeling for a bunch of naked artists for a change.

September Schedule for Naked Drawing Group of Washington DC

Hello folks and welcome to NDG-DC.

We'll be meeting on September 9 (Chris) and September 23 (Jeremy) this month.

Chris hasn't modeled with the NDG before but has modeled with several artists in the DC area and is lots of fun to work with.

Jeremy has posed with us before as part of Vitruvian's Thursday night group. Always the professional and comfortable in his skin, he is always a pleasure to draw.

Sessions start at 7:30, but please arrive by 7:15 for set up and social time. The session ends at 9:30.

Refreshments are provided. If you have something you'd like to share with the group, please feel free.

Fee is $12. Exact change is appreciated. We may be increasing the price to $15 in the new year, as it will make it easier to cover model and room costs on the days when attendance is light, and eliminate the need for most change-making for those who forget to break their money into smaller bits. Your input and comments are appreciated.

Easels and drawing boards are available. You are responsible for bringing your own supplies and cleaning up after yourself. Please refrain from bringing materials that require fixatives or solvents, as we do not have the facilities to handle them.

We had a well attended and lively group tonight. James did some wonderful poses, and some in the group discovered the perils of snacking on Biscoff Spread and wafers. That's some dangerous stuff in a jar. Yes. It. Is.
